Jinglebells, jinglebells, jingle all the way...

I just had to buy these fabrics when I stumbled over them the other day... I know it is over 4 months before Christmas is here, but who cares? Oh... don't you just love Christmas preparations? I have a couple of gifts done already and I will be done with most of the rest before next month is over. I love to spend the last time before it all starts with just fun crafting and baking. December is MY month...and since I don't like shopping in over crowded stores I do my shopping looong before the shops starts playing Jinglebells.

Tomorrow it is a new month with lots of new beginnings...and lots of crafting... but more about that then.

~~~*~~~
Cakes and sweets and chocolate and such...
Did you know I have the worlds biggest sweet tooth? I just L.O.V.E everything sweet...and finding these in Sweden made my day... and yes..of course I shared some with my hubby and my kids...well...they got a taste at least.
Speaking of food - I have put some picture of Bentos I have made here. I'll be making loads more when school starts up again.
Did you know it is just five months until Christmas btw? I can't wait to start baking all the cakes and biscuits. *happy sigh*
My vest is done...
Finally finished! It has been *almost done* for ages, but I got caught up in other projects and stuff. Bet this will be used a lot when the weather gets a bit colder.
Pattern: Ribbestrikket vest -- Lene Holme Samsøe, Feminin Strikk
Yarn: Safir from Sparkjøp
Right now the sun is shining outside...and it it H.O.T. Almost to hot to knit... I just said almost.
Got any milk?
I can't even remember where I first saw these kind of biscuits, but I have wanted to make some ever since... Finally got around to do so the other day, but didn't have time to sew on the buttons before today. Making things like this is so much fun...and I have more plans. I have a date with my sewing machine one of these days as well...the fabric is washed and ready for action.
I give you: Sunshine
I finished my top before we left, but didn't have time to weave in the ends before today...and now it is all done...and in use...as we speak. My youngest son named it. I love it!
Pattern: Sunshine -- MadeByManne
Yarn: Safir from Sparkjøp
I used Safir because it was in my stash and I wanted to try out this idea I had...I have already bought yarn to knit another..and then I want one in grey and one in blue and one in...yeah... you get the picture? I will write down the pattern and the different yarn I use. Stay tuned!
Taking some pictures of a nursery pillow...
It is very hard to take a picture of a pillow when there is such a sweet boy laying on it.
I made this pillow and then I forgot to take a picture of it before I gave it away...
Some shopping...
Outside Uddevalla there is a big store named Grunnebogarn...and of course I had to take a little look inside...
On the outside they had decorated a flag pole with knitted yarn...
...and even the big concrete blockers had "sweaters" on them...It must be cold in Sweden...
I was not allowed to take pictures inside the store though...and that actually made me NOT buy anything... except for some needles..but those I needed in order to start on the body of my sweater...
In Varberg I found these sweet crocs adorns...a knitter needs sheep, right?
I did some more shopping...some paintings, some bookpaper and some other stuff. I even found a Matas store in Varberg...wich made me - and my feets - very happy.
Gone fishing - back now...
We have been AWOL for a couple of days...well almost five days actually...did you tell? We packed our car on Monday and drove without certain destination - into Sweden. It is the way we like to spend some days each summer...the only difference this year was that we let the tent stay home. We couldn't really be bothered since the weather forecast said "rain, rain and rain again"... they were a bit wrong though...we had a fair share of sun each day...but rain at night - so leaving the tent behind was a smart thing to do. Sorry tent...we'll take you along next year.
On the picture above you can see the basket I have at my feet in the car...my "knit-while-hubby-drive-basket"...I finished the ribbings on the sleves before we went to bed on Sunday...that way I could knit mindlessly once we started driving. The perfect way of spending some hours in the car.
The first night was spent at this lovely Bed&Breakfast in Kinna...a small place outside Borås. It was an old mainhouse on a used-to-be-farm... Readymade beds to sleep in and breakfast in the morning... yeah.. I can easily get used to this...
...and this was my basket in the evening... sleves almost done. Need to start on the body in the morning.
This little cottage can be found in Halmstad and was our "home-for-the-night". It was small and cosy...but not really the place to spend more then one or maybe two nights in.
Outside the cottage we found a path...and it led into the dark forest...the boys just had to run some butterflies out of their legs...
...and then...we came out of the forest...and we found a beach. A long beach. A very long beach. Somewhere over the ocean you'll find Denmark. The map says it will take 4 hours with a ferry to Grenå...so there you have it. Of course the batteries in my camera depleted on the way up to a better view point...the beach goes from where you can see in the picture - to about 3 or 4 times the lenght the other way...but since I don't have any pictures to prove it you'll just have to take my word for the size of the beach. Either that - or visit Halmstad yourselves.
There should have been a picture of some knitting here...but I forgot to take a picture of it. Just imagine a grey ribbing and some red and yellow stripes...nothing fancy really. Just the start of the body for the sweater belonging to the sleves shown in the picture a bit up...
Have you started to realize that this post will be super long? We are on day three now...
..and this is a cottage in Varberg. Our last stop on this trip. We spent two days in FunCity...and the boys loved it. Lots to do and lots to see...
Like these two guys... I would just love to have those in my garden...or at least love to have the wool in my stash.
This guy - on the other hand - would have been more of a shock to see back home. We all know that babies come with the stork, right?
Before we left Varberg my basket looked like this...almost halfway done with the body.
...and at the doorstep back home...you have this. Now I need to wash all the used clothes and tidy away all the bits and bobs from the trip. More knitting will happen tomorrow.
Are you still hanging in there? Tomorrow I'll blog about some of the things I bought on our trip...but I'll let you all catch a break for now. Cya!
Lazy days...
Something to read, something to drink, something to eat and something to knit...Life is good when the sun shines.
~~~*~~~

Well Mr.Burglar...give it a try...

We have talked about it for some years actually, but never really gotten around to it... the whole playhouse affair made us finally do something. Knowing that people could go into our yard doing something like that without us not even noticing it until it was to late made us angry and sad...and then again it led to this. So...come on...anyone.. give it a try... moahaha!

~~~*~~~
Do you know the Muffin Man, Who lives on Drury Lane?...
I have been baking today...just woke up and felt the urge. Baked 48 ham and cheese rolls and two cinnamon and sugar coffeecake/roll... for the latter you'll find a Norwegian recipe at marie. It tastes delicous...really jummy!
It is hard to take some decent pictures these days... we have sun one minute and pouring rain the next. Fun weather...just not to picture friendly.
~~~*~~~

It warmed my heart...

Last night the doorbell rang and outside my door stood Elite with a beautiful flower and two giftbags with yarn and more. I was without words - still am in fact. I can just say THANK YOU!! To all of you... You made my day so much brighter! *hug*

A little sneak peak down in the bags...

And the card said: A little pickmeup...Elite, Erica, Kaos, Kattepus, Irenesol, Ma-2, Heidisu, Felisi, -mormor-(vanja), Hildegunn and Pinneguri...

~~~*~~~
Round and round and round...
No, I'm not talking about a merry-go-round, but about my Evilla. I still don't know what to knit from it...so I might take a look at Ravelry. I don't think I want another shawl, but you'll never know.
We almost ran out of space at the end...
Isn't it pretty btw? I love the colors...and hope I like the way it turnes out after it is all knitted up.
Hmmm...just realized that you don't get a true picture of the colors here...the dark yellow repeats a few more times then shown.
~~~*~~~

I know, I know...

I know you are not supposed to have your finger inside the car when you try to close the door, but sometimes I'm not as fast as I want to belive I am. And it hurts. Bad! I can't even knit...so my pain is double.

After my little finger accident we drove past to Sparkjøp...and I bought some yarn...you know..the effect of yarn as pain killers is strong. I did buy a few more skeins than the two shown in the picture..they are just there to show you the colors...oh... I did buy some more of the dark yellow as well... See the picture from yesterday.

~~~*~~~
We can see you...
You didn't think I would let the whole vandalism affair go by unnoticed, did you? We have the playhouse monitored 24/7...with motion detection and save-to-file by night. We have notified "Datatilsynet" so we are covered... Rather fun actually. Never knew so many cats where strolling over our garden during nighttime...hehehe
Monitoring the playhouse is not all I do these days though. I both read and knit...often at the same time... (and truth be told often WHILE playing lotro as well... Don't you just love multitasking?). Lisa, her lbf and I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian on the day of the premiere and that led to me rereading the 7 books. You know how it is like...when you sit there in the movie theatre and things just isn't like you read them? A lot of things wasn't like the books, but when you look like Ben Barnes - who cares? *sigh*... Did I hear someone say eyecandy? :P
~~~*~~~

Suddenly it was July...

...and we hardly knew June was ending.

A new month and we have already finished two weeks of the kids holidays...

This yarn found its way into my home and will be knitted into a sweater...soon... Just have to finish some other projects - before they turn into ufo's.
